"Great meet this weekend vs. The Y. The Tsunami team is now 5-1 with a 353-161 win yesterday. Thanks to all parent volunteers.

Two notes from yesterday: I need everyone to arrive on time so they may warm up. Several kids did not arrive in time for warm ups. This will affect their performances!! Also, everyone needs to remain in their suits until the team cheer has been completed at the conclusion of the meet.

Next meet is this FRIDAY, JANUARY 26th at Greenwich Boys and Girls Club. Directions can be found on yonkerstsunami.com. I expect to see everyone on deck at 6pm for wam ups, unless you notify me of absence/lateness.

Congratulations to the following swimmers on establishing new team records:
- Alexia, breaking her own record in 18 Free, 1:07.69 AND 18 Back, 1:15.63;

- Jasmine, breaking her own record from last meet, 14 Back, 1:12.63

Meet Change in February; About Lateness...

"Parents:

Please note that there is a change in the meet schedule.

The meet on Sunday, 2/4 (Super Bowl Sunday) at New Rochelle has been moved to:

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11th, at NEW ROCHELLE YMCA. Warm ups 3:30.

Also, tentative practice schedule for February break:
2/19, 2/20 Closed.
2/21, 2/22, 2/23- 10:30am to 12:30. (will confirm)

Please also note that a large percentage of the team has been arriving to practice late (10-15 minutes!!). This is disruptive to the coaches and swimmers as they need a proper warm up before main sets. Please make every effort to show up on time!!!

"I was quite proud of the team yesterday-we had more personal-bests and 9 records were broken! We also made history by the 343-175 win-a first ever win over the team vs Harrison in our history! Thank you to our parent volunteers, and coming on time for our team picture!"

Below are the dates of the time trial meets. Please read this note from Julie about the importance of attendence, and how crucial it, and communication are to the team and each swimmer.

Sunday, March 4th at FAST in Greenburgh for 8 and unders, 10am*
Tuesday, March 6th at Mark Twain for 14’s/18’s, 5pm warm ups
Wednesday, March 7th at MT for 10’s, 5pm warm ups
Thursday, March 8th at MT for 12’s, 5pm
Sunday, March 11 Championships at Felix Festa 9am* (those in top 16 from trials)

*Start/warm up times to be confirmed

Team Picture day this Saturday

From Julie (Jasmine's mom):

"This weekend (Saturday January 13, 2007) before the meet, the Tsunami’s will take their annual team photo. This year Mike Gonzalez will be taking the photo for us. If you would like a copy of the picture the cost will be $5.00 per picture (8 x 10). We are asking that you pay up front as he is doing this as a favor for the team. You can either pay by Cash or a check. This will be the only order taken for the photos."

(From Frank:) Check out a snapshot of last year's team, on the right. For sure, we'll take a better one this year (especially since I won't be taking it.)
